When a child is involved in a trauma - be it a collision, house fire or other unpleasant incident - it often helps for them to be able to hold onto something for comfort.

And thanks to the Cranbourne Lions Club, Cardinia Highway Patrol has just the gift that may dry up tears.

The Lions Club donated 10 bears to the road patrol group on Thurday 3rd Sept in an effort to help kids in despair.

Sitting snug in the back of officer’s cars these bright and soft teddies are a first-time donation to Cardinia Highway Patrol.

Having already helped kids that require emergency assistance by the SES, Ambulance Victoria and Casey Hospital’s Children’s Ward, Lions Club District Governor and Cranbourne member Ian Gration hopes the donation will make a difference to kids in crisis.

“They help the kids calm down….It’s surprising how kids will stop crying once they have something to hold on to. It changes their perspective on thing,” he said.
