Melton Operation Bear

Police perform a number of different roles, and some that you are probably unaware of. Yesterday I visited a Brookfield family who were victims of a burglary and theft of motor car in early June. Arrests were made on the night, but the kids in the family were shaken when they returned home to find a number of police in attendance, causing some anxiety. The purpose of yesterday’s visit was to reassure those kids that police are there to assist them and were not to be feared. The kids had a great time playing in the car, operating the lights and sirens, and were pretty happy to receive a teddy each courtesy of the Lions Club. I think the kids enjoyed themselves and I hope this goes a long way toward them getting back to normal and thinking less about the “bad guys”. Thanks to the Lions Club for all of their support for Victoria Police.
